The conference will take place in the Stirling Management Centre, University of Stirling.

Stirling Management Centre is located within the grounds of the University of Stirling campusbetween Stirling and Bridge of Allan, just 10 minutes from the Junction 11 of the M/A9.

Stirling enjoys excellent road and rail links to the rest of the United Kingdom and an ever increasing number of airlines now fly directly to Glasgow and Edinburgh.

By Car 

The Stirling Management Centre has its own 110 space free car park.  On occasions, the demand for car parking spaces may exceed supply.  Visitors are therefore strongly encouraged to use the excellent public transport links to and from Stirling or consider car sharing.

Visitors to the Stirling Management Centre at the University of Stirling who choose to bring their car should note the following directions:

If approaching from the

  • East (on the A91 from St Andrews or the M9 from Edinburgh)
  • South (on the M74, M73, A80, M80, M9) or
  • West (on the M8, A80, M80, M9 from Glasgow)

take the M9 to Junction 11. Once at the junction there is a roundabout which marks the end of the M9. From here you should take the exit for Bridge of Allan, follow the road through the town itself, and after about 200 metres you will find the University on the left.

  • North (A9)

Visitors to the University are advised that a vehicle access barrier system operates on campus, from September to May inclusive.

Visitors are requested to enter the University via the main entrance, and, keeping to the left hand, Visitors' Lane, stop at the manned booth to collect a Visitors' Parking Permit. Please note that possession of a valid permit does not guarantee a parking space.

By Bus 

The University campus is served by excellent bus links from Stirling city centre.

At peak times some 19 buses per hour run from Stirling to the main University campus.

The principal provider of bus services is First, with routes 50, 53, 54, 58, 62 and 63 all running to and from the University and Murray Place, Stirling.

In addition, Ferguson's buses run to and from the University campus on routes 50 and 153. (Please note that while the service is regular, a 15 minute wait can sometimes be expected.)

By Rail

Regular Scotrail train services run from Edinburgh Waverley Station, Glasgow Queen Street Station and Perth rail station with journey times being 45 minutes, 35 minutes and 30 minutes respectively. Journey times from Aberdeen are between 2 hours and 2 hours 10 minutes and from Inverness between 2 hours 50 minutes to 3 hours.

It is recommended that you alight at Stirling train station (not Bridge of Allan) and then make your way to the Stirling Management Centre by bus or taxi. Taxis are readily available from Stirling Rail Station concourse, with most buses to the University campus departing from Murray Place bus stop located just up the road from the rail station.

If you are coming from further afield the following can be used as a guide for rail travel times to Stirling.

Intercity Services from London to Stirling Station - 5 hours 15 minutes. 
Leeds to Stirling - 4 hours, 15 minutes.
Manchester to Stirling - 4 hours, 30 minutes.
Bristol to Stirling - 7 hours.

By Air 

You can fly to either Edinburgh or Glasgow Airports...

Edinburgh Airport is a 45 minute drive away, while Glasgow Airport is approximately a 1 hour 20 minute drive to Stirling Management Centre.
You can fly to either Edinburgh or Glasgow Airports from a wide range of international and domestic airports.

Frequent coach transfers are available from each of these two airports to their respective city centres:

From there, visitors can access the frequent and reliable train services which run to Stirling from both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Accessibility

To ensure that the amenities and events held at Stirling Management Centre are equally accessible to all, free on-site parking for up to 120 vehicles is available. Additional designated spaces for disabled parking and unloading are also available as is a ramp which is situated at the main entrance to the Centre.

The Stirling Management Centre offers disabled access throughout the building including conference rooms and restaurant and bar facilities, with adapted bedrooms on the ground floor.

In addition hearing loops have been installed in some areas at the centre.

Please let the conference secretariat know if you have any special access or dietary requirements.

Shops on Campus

A variety of retail outlets are located within the Andrew Miller Building, the main hub of the campus, stocking a wide range of goods, from books to biscuits.
Retail outlets include:

  • Bookshop
  • SUSA Shop - The Stirling University Student's Association (SUSA) shop stocks a wide range of gift items bearing the University 'brand'.
